Polly Cook

Polly Cook

A native of Tennessee, she now calls Arkansas her home. With a B.F.A. IN CERAMICS AND SCULPTURE, Cook’s exhibition history spans over twenty years and her work is included in the permanent corporate collections of Embassy Suites, The Pepsi-Cola Company and others. Commissions include a 16 foot ceramic mural located at Vanderbilt University and the illustration of an Olympic CD for MCA Records. Her work has been featured in homes on HGTV, House Beautiful and Metropolitan Home.

Cook creates stunning mosaics of painted ceramic tile on wood panel inspired by themes of love and longing, hope and desire, and celebrating relationships.

The work is narrative in nature depicting a story. Cook draws and carves into large slabs of clay, often letting them break as they will: these random breaks add to the psychological undertone of the work through their evocation of fragmentation and complexity.
