Dewane Hughes

I am a deacon in the Cult of Hand, baptized in the viscera of human experience. It is from this perspective that I create, construct, conduct, and convert the viewer (spectator) from audience to witness. A witness has an understanding that an audience has not. A witness bears the responsibility of a knowledge possessed by only a few. A witness can give detail to the crime, explain the magic to the trick, and can preach to the glory of both.

Spectacle begets Spectacle: The psycho-kinetic creative process is NOT clean, neat or cerebrally encrypted, but rather bumped into on a dance floor when deep in a trance. It drops from adequate hands onto sufficient materials the way bellowed hymns filter out of rural tabernacles slightly out of tune. To make a joyful noise (joyful object), bravely play the fool in all grace.
